Autumn In Oakbrook
There’s something about autumn in Oakbrook. Maybe it’s the coffee, the little bookshop, the orchards glowing gold or the market lights flickering on at dusk. Or maybe it’s simply the feeling that you’ve stumbled upon somewhere you’d quite like to stay.

Crisp Beginnings
You hadn’t planned on stopping in Oakbrook. But the air was crisp, leaves danced across the village square and strings of lights waited patiently for evening. Somewhere above, the clock tower chimed as shopkeepers opened their doors for the day. Perhaps you could stay a little while. After all, one coffee wouldn’t hurt.
Scent notes: Bergamot · Sandalwood · Cedar
Kindled Comfort
The coffee shop was warm, busy and far too inviting to rush. You took the table by the window and watched Oakbrook wander by. Then someone asked if the chair opposite was free. One coffee became two, conversation came easily, and twenty minutes disappeared. Eventually they stood and smiled. “I should get back to the bookshop.”
Scent notes: Caramel · Almond · Chocolate
Quiet Chapters
You found the little bookshop entirely by accident. At least, that’s what you told yourself. Inside were towering shelves, handwritten recommendations and a familiar face behind the counter. You stayed longer than intended, helped with a delivery and somehow earned an invitation to the Harvest Gathering that evening. “You should come.” You both knew you would.
Scent notes: Patchouli · Rose · Musk
Orchard Stroll
There were still a few hours before the gathering, so you wandered beyond the village to the orchard. Baskets waited by the gate, berries tangled through the hedgerows and autumn sunlight slipped between the trees. You picked apples, ate at least one and laughed far more than you harvested. In the distance, music was beginning. Neither of you hurried back.
Scent notes: Redcurrant · Mandarin · Oak
Harvest Gathering
By evening, Oakbrook was glowing. Market stalls filled the square, music drifted from the bandstand and strings of lights twinkled overhead. There were pumpkins, games, toffee apples and candy floss far larger than anyone reasonably needed. This morning, you hadn’t known Oakbrook existed. Now people were calling your name from across the market.
Scent notes: Candy Floss · Popcorn · Berries
Evening Glow
Eventually, Oakbrook grew quiet again. A market bag was left by the door, the fire was lit and the dog had already claimed the warmest spot. There were two glasses of wine on the table, an open book between them and nowhere else either of you needed to be. A village you were only meant to pass through had somehow started to feel a little like home. Perhaps one more day wouldn't hurt.
